Fire Safety Management in Malaysian Higher Educational Institutions

Most universities and college campuses across Malaysia are engaged in developing policies, programmes, systems to reduce fire risks, maintain safety. Although the awareness of disasters has increased among some parts society, concept disaster preparedness response not been sufficiently explored. Therefore, this paper aims establish a conceptual framework safety management plan Malaysian Higher Educational Institution. The method used by is synthesizing previous articles from selected journals conference proceedings, reports, standards on risk management, higher institution contingency plans, existing guidelines authorities. key elements variables literatures assist study related plan. findings include like organizational responsibilities (mitigation/prevention), emergency including facilities, contact details, information, communication training, testing reviewing (response & recovery). establishment can guide teams at educational institutions delivering information Emergency Response Team (ERT) ensure its effectiveness. Moreover, will help team adopt, validate, evaluate, which enhances ability detect crisis signal that minimize losses.
